TrackMan is a radar-based tracking system primarily used in sports—especially golf and baseball—to measure and analyze the motion of balls and players with high precision. Here’s a breakdown depending on the context:

In Golf:

TrackMan is widely used by:

  • PGA professionals, instructors, and club fitters.

  • It uses Doppler radar to track:

    • Ball speed

    • Launch angle

    • Spin rate

    • Club path

    • Face angle

    • Smash factor

    • Carry distance

  • Helps golfers analyze their swing, optimize equipment, and improve performance.

  • Also used in indoor golf simulators and training centers.

How It Works:

  • Uses dual radar and camera technology.

  • Captures data in real time and feeds it into analytical software.

  • Delivers actionable metrics for coaching, scouting, and broadcast analysis.

        What equipment do I need?

Get fitted for clubs is the best option. Not one club works best for everyone.

Get a tripod to mount your phone on. From the face on view aim the camera at your chest. Best option starting out is to make a T with 2 alignment sticks to make it easier to align the camera. One stick pointed parallel to the target for your feet to align to and the other stick in the center of your stance. Down the target line set the camera either on your hand line or the target line(in line with the ball and the target).

Results vary- some students pick things up immediately and others take time. Just depends on how deep their current habit is embedded into their system.
